Statement

I´m applying as a member of the group Swedish Material Makers. We are 5 artists working with international exhibitions and exchange programs within the contemporary craft field.
Our group started 2011 with a Swedish-German exchange in Schleswig-Holstein and
since then we have continued to exhibit together. http://www.swedishmaterialmakers.se

I am a craft-based artist and I work in the loom with color and material as a startingpoint and the carpet as an spatial idea and image.
My work engages the entire body and the physical experience develops the thought. I want to investigate the woven works impact on our perception and experience. For me weaving is an Interaction between body, color and surface that creates spatiality and rhythm.
In my last soloshow (at Fiberspace Gallery 2022) the theme was “The underlying structure of reality”.

I hold an MFA in Textile, Konstfack, and I am educated at Handarbetets Vänner Skola , Sweden and Kawashima Textile School in Kyoto
